Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (TTIA) has been named Asia Pacific’s second-best airport of its size by Airports Council International. This prestigious award recognizes Taiwan’s largest airport for its exceptional service, innovation and passenger satisfaction.

Each year, international passengers in 300 airports across more than 80 countries share their feedback in the Airport Service Quality (ASQ) survey, which provides the global benchmark for the world’s top airports. The 2015 survey awarded TTIA airport as the second best in Asia Pacific by size (25 to 40 million passenger volume). Airports in New Delhi and Mumbai tied for first place in this category, followed by TTIA and Shanghai Hongqiao. TTIA also garnered third place in Asia Pacific for the Best Airport by Size and Region (over 2 million passengers).

This is the third year since 2013 that TTIA has been recognized by ASQ’s global benchmarking program. More than 550 thousand questionnaires were issued for this annual survey that measures customer satisfaction in departure and arrival services such as check-in, security check, signage and food and beverage.

The airport’s passenger volume reached 38.47 million in 2015, a robust increase of 7.45% compared to the previous year. A standout airport in the highly competitive Asia Pacific region, TTIA continues to enrich and personalize international passenger experiences with cutting-edge technology, the April 2016 expansion of Terminal 2, and the design of the 640,000-square-metre Terminal 3 that is expected to be completed in 2020.
